EN MASSE

Thursday, December 2, 2004‹Friday, December 31, 2004

OPENING RECEPTION:
Thursday, December 2, 2004, 8pm-10pm with the improvisational electronic
sounds of ndCv and Flox, B.B.

En Masse is a meditation on spatial and emotional relationships in the
contemporary urban landscape. Driven by a parallel aesthetic and
vision, photographer Roseann Barnhill and graphic artist Luara Moore have incorporated the formal vocabulary of design and the experimental nature of collage in 17 large-format inkjet prints.

Barnhill1s photographs capture desolate city landscapes that accommodate an
infinite array of expressive possibilities. Moore transforms these scenes
into something new, digital constructions that explore patterning and color
as well as conceptual issues. Moore instinctually enhances colors,
incorporates patterns and drawings, and layers images culled from popular
culture and mass media to create a nonlinear narrative that is inherently
political, thought provoking, and humorous in a rather dark sense.
